Make a Joyful Noise

In the book of Luke 19:37-40, Jesus’ disciples were loudly praising Him as He was riding the colt into Jerusalem.  The religious people of the day, the Pharisees, didn’t like this and asked Jesus to rebuke them.  This was Jesus’ answer:  I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.

I love how Jesus answered them, it’s always been a favourite verse of mine.  His whole creation praises Him every day.  Flowers bloom for His pleasure, huge, beautiful trees speak of His greatness, birds of all kinds with unique and different sounds, sing all day the praises of their Creator.  At night, frogs and crickets speak their praise to Him.

All this reminds me what the chief end of man is…….to glorify God!  So why not all of His creation!  Even the rhythmic crashing of ocean waves is loudly beautiful!  Romans 1:20 states:  For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship, so that they (who fail to believe and trust in Him) are without excuse and without defense.

His creation speaks so loudly that God is their Master, and mine too!
